Airis
Our design team was challenged to develop a line that would satisfy Dark Sky regulations. They were also tasked with designing several distinctive looks. The result is the Airis Collection. Widely customizable - from seeded glass or mesh tubing to heat-textured steel or cast aluminum plates, it's available in indoor and outdoor options. Safe to say, our designers are ready for the next challenge. "We have many fixtures that meet certification requirements or conform to the guidelines for a variety of regulations and standards. We're also continually evaluating and exploring solutions for new requirements." - John R., Product Engineer
Antasia
Take a look at the ceiling fixture from the Antasia Collection - the sinuous curves inspired by art Nouveau designers like Victor Horta, Hector Guimard and Antonio Gaudi cradle the glass that brings to mind water ready to turn into a drop. The fluidity of form continues in the desk and floor lamps' stands made from solid forged steel. The sconce rounds out the collection with a shape that looks like the steel is flowing down from the glass. "Antasia was a play on the word 'Fantasia' - the Disney movie I saw as a youth. This fixture collection, like the movie, is still one of my favorites." - David M., Designer of the Antasia Collection
Banded
The Banded collection offers a design with simple steel or aluminum bands against a glass shade backdrop and more than 20 choices of interior sconces and ceiling fixtures and exterior sconces, hanging and post fixtures. Encapsulated in this design is enough clean and sleek to go a long, long way. With multiple finish and glass color options available, you can make it your own. "Our dedication to quality starts before the product is picked and continues after it ships out. I love being part of a team committed to giving our customers an outstanding experience each step of the way." - Nate C., Customer Interface Manager
Brindille
When it came time to branch out with some unique, new designs, the Brindille Collection was a natural fit. Literally translating to "twig" from the French, each facet of the Brindille's steel round bar's texture is the result of a blow from our hammer, Big Blue (which isn't that big, but is blue). If there were such a thing as handcrafted natural light, we think the Brindille Collection would fit the bill with its transitional aesthetic that's able to enhance any setting from rustic to modern. "The work we do uses a fusion of centuries-old techniques and modern technology along with our designers' imaginations and metalcrafters' skills." - Wayne C., Customs Department Leader
Cavaletti
Vermont is horse country and this is our nod to that culture. A cavaletti is the support and bar that horses jump. Our Cavaletti is fashioned from steel square bar stock heated in our forge, then skillfully drawn out and tapered to create the visual elements that are the signature of this collection. "We have to take a lot of care when we're putting the Cavaletti through our finish process. There's plenty of texture to the pieces, so it requires a lot of hand-finish work to get a piece we're proud to offer." - Jessica M., Weld Process Specialist
Celesse
The stars and their constellations, the cycles of the moon - there's no denying the beauty of the heavens. Unlike the night sky, the Celesse pendant and sconce/semi-flush allow for personal customization. Each ring encircling a light can be rotated, and the core of each can also be adjusted for further personalization. "The most compelling aspect of the pendant is the multiple ways that it can be configured. It can respond to a space as a partnership - there is no up/down/sideways. The Celesse sconce also gives an impression of movement that's pleasing to the eye." - David M., Design Team Leader
Cirque
Clean and sculptural, our Cirque Collection is a reinterpretation of the orb chandelier. Steel curves forming circlets dominate the design, while candelabra bulbs light the fixture from within to cast a soft glow on the hand-forged metal. Offered in a simple four-stem chandelier or an eight-stem chandelier featuring two concentric orbs, Cirque delivers a captivating form that high-end design can revolve around. "Having started in assembly and being in forge for the last few years, I've seen the Cirque from start to finish. It's given me an appreciation for how much work and skill goes into making each piece." - Jason B., Metal Crafter
Cityscape
City skylines can be awe-inspiring. So is our Cityscape Collection. Polished aluminum rods that imitate building outlines pass through the edge-lit LED light guides of the collection's pendants and sconce to "reflect" on the other side. The Cityscape Collection, with rods finished in a Vintage Platinum or Soft Gold and paired with a handcrafted steel frame offered in a range of finish colors, will deliver a city view to brag about, no matter where you live. "Surrounded by hundreds of top designers in the audience, I felt the pride of our entire organization seeing our CITYSCAPE projected onto the screen as a finalist during Interior Design magazine's Best Of Year Awards ceremony." - Jeanne-Marie G., Vice President of Marketing
Corona
Like the fiery corona circling the sun, our Corona reflects flowing light from its hand-forged steel curves. Honoring our innovative company's Vermont heritage, the Corona Collection pairs modern and rustic design influences. The collection's designer calls it the "Modern Lodge" look. Corona is offered in a full complement of lighting styles, from pendants and sconces to chandeliers. As one of our crowning achievements in design aesthetics, the Corona lives up to its name. "We continually meet the challenge of developing tooling that ensures production within a precise tolerance. Every production tool we develop acts as a gauge to ensure perfect quality every single time." - Jason H., R & D Manager
Divergence
The Divergence is a study in contradictions. The designs were carefully planned to unite elements that visually appears to be drifting apart. Each bulb-tipped pipe extending from the core of these fixtures is united by a metal bar that zigs and zags before linking everything back together. "We originally introduced the Divergence Pendant with our new Coastal Outdoor Finishes. The finishes and pendant were so popular, that an outdoor sconce was created. We've also designed an indoor version of the pendant which is now available in our standard indoor finishes for anyone who wants to bring the design inside." - Louis R., Finish Process Specialist
Erlenmeyer
Concocted by our own designers, the Erlenmeyer Collection borrows its name from the flasks found in any science lab worth its salt. Offered in pendant, ceiling fixtures and wall sconces, these bold fixtures provide the heat for steam punk appeal. Through a partnership with two teams of artisans - our own shaping the metal and a local Vermont artisan, AO Glass, creating the hand-blown colored glass - this collection will provide the right chemistry for your design. "Our original inspiration was the Edison bulb, but we didn't like the original bulb-shaped sample. We did love the second sample we designed with a flat bottom which reminded us of a chemistry lab flask. It's now one of our best-selling pieces and one of my personal favorites." - David K., Design Director
Exos
Thinking outside the box and designing outside the shade has resulted in the Exos Collection. The "exo" refers to the exterior steel bars that support the shade or glass. Offered in more than 20 designs, the collection's style ranges from classic to contemporary. Although we think they're pretty much perfect, customization is possible for any pieces created at Hubbardton Forge - that's one of the benefits of handcrafting. "For a dramatic effect in large spaces, a designer may use multiple sizes of our standard fixtures hung at different heights. But if there is a need for something a bit different, our Customs Team can create it." - Hal B., Customs Sales Engineer
Flora
Our Flora Collection has been at the root of some of the most elegant room concepts. It may sound like a contradiction - but see for yourself - our Vermont artisans render forged steel into a delicate design that looks organic. The tendrils and vines curling around, or even serving as the form of the pendants and chandeliers, provide a modern update to the Art Nouveau style for this transitional collection. "Making the forged leaves uses all the different skills around the forge. I weld, hammer, handwork, mold and bend every single leaf. I've been crafting them for 13 years and now I'm teaching my son how to make them to carry on the tradition" - Scott B.; Forge Team Member
Flux
Fluid lines, curving polished metal surfaces, and glowing LED light guide "blades" create the contemporary look of the Flux Collection Pendant. The collection also includes table lamps as well as sconces. The sconces are offered in both indoor and outdoor lighting options. "If it weren't for the cables you'd think the Flux pendant could fly." - David M., Designer of the Flux Collection
Henry
From a grandfather's workshop or the garage where you tuned up your first car, old fashioned work lamps did their job. They were well-built, but the design was utilitarian. Drawing from their own feelings of nostalgia, our design team honors the spirit of the work lamp, while turning the aesthetics inside out. The Henry's spun-metal shade rests within the support structure rather than surrounding it. Each arm is fastened to the metal shade with a rivet. The design flourishes move from the industrial look to more stylistically steampunk. "We wanted to take a design that was utilitarian and add our own stylized touches to create a piece that looks right for a living space instead of a garage." - Zach P., Custom Design Engineer
Mobius
Math and sculpture meet in our Mobius Collection. A self-proclaimed math geek, designer David Martin took naming inspiration from mathematician August Ferdinand Möbius, discoverer of the Möbius Strip. David says the steel Mobius Pendant's shape gives it the unique characteristic of having a single surface that is both an inside and outside boundary. While our craftspeople had to use consummate skill and creativity to make steel flow seamlessly in three dimensions, all you have to do is enjoy the beauty of the piece. "Each piece is time and labor intensive, but we also craft the custom tooling used to make each piece. For the Mobius alone, more than 375 hours went into crafting the specific tools used." - Annie G., Forge Process Specialist
New Town
The name says "new," but this collection is steeped in deep tradition. The hand-blown seedy hurricane glass and chain-hung canopy are perfect elements to compliment classic, elegant settings. Meanwhile, selections of narrow glass tubes in opal or stone deliver a subtle, contemporary urban appeal. In either case, these handmade pieces add something new to tradition. "Before the large chandelier from our New Town Collection leaves Hubbardton Forge, more than half a dozen people will have played a part in creating it." - Amy E., Team Leader, Finish
New Traditional
Twist baskets, forged leaves and sweeping tapers; familiar elements from our New England heritage that have historically defined what traditional means to Hubbardton Forge. Today our roots are still firmly planted in New England, but our vision is worldwide. We are proud to introduce our New Traditional Collection. A collection that reflects classic traditional elements throughout history, across the entire country. "Our New Traditional Collection blends simplicity in form with a richness in materials and finish, at the quality level expected from Hubbardton Forge." - David Kitts, Director of Design
Oceanus
This collection is named after Oceanus, a large plain on Earth's moon dimpled with craters. When light plays off the texture of heavily-peened aluminum, it also brings to mind light breaking through the ocean's surface. While the inspiration is extraterrestrial, the artistry happens in Vermont with skilled craftspeople handcrafting each piece. "One of the challenges with the Oceanus collection is that the metal is cold-crafted. That results in a lot of spring-back. It also means the finish has to be perfect or it's not making it to the next step." - Jeff B., Metal Crafter
Ondrian
Piet Mondrian was a painter involved in the De Stilj artistic movement that came out of Amsterdam in the 1920s. Our collection takes inspiration from Mondrian and the movement. Using a hammer manufactured in a neighboring town more than a century before, red-hot steel is worked to create the subtly distressed look of the vertical bars that counterbalance the simple horizontal lines. Although we're a long way from the Amsterdam of the 1920s, our art-obsessed craftspeople are still representing "The Style." "The Ondrian 6-light Pendant was my first design to make it into production. It also still hangs from my dining room ceiling today." - David K.; Design Director
Otto
If Jules Verne were alive today, the Otto Collection would light up his home. The brass and glass of the Otto deliver strong steampunk aesthetics. Each piece complements the next, but makes a strong individual statement, as well. The large sphere offers a choice of stainless steel mesh or frosted glass tube around the interior light. The pendants of the 5-light can be hung level with each other or at different heights for personalization. The "undrawn bow" of our sconce alludes to potential energy, while kinetic energy is created with the flip of a switch. "The Otto Family had thrown us several curve balls during development. Through countless hour of team work, we overcame these challenges and created a product we're proud of." - Stacey L. New Product Specialist
Planar
Elegant, modern, bold . . . we know our audience. We believe they deserve products that match. Our Planar Collection, influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright's visionary Fallingwater home from the 1930s, delivers that product. The interplay of the slim LED plate lights and the intersecting steel elements give the elegant, the modern and the bold something they can readily relate to. "Our large Planar pendant uses 18 custom tools we made in-house and 136 individual welds. A person's experience and skill is behind each of those welds." - Tammy T., Team Leader, Weld Support
Quill
Quill is an attention-grabbing option showcasing a faceted geometry that's destined to be an impressive feather in any designer's cap. Quill pendants are infinitely adjustable, making our one-of-a-kind lights as unique as the cutting-edge designs they pair with. "LED gives us more design freedom. The light source can be integrated into the sculpture instead of around it." - Andy M., Design Developer
Shadow Box
Sophisticated and clean lines embrace rich glass elements in our Shadow Box Outdoor Sconces Collection. Versatile and dynamic, these geometric sconces may be used singularly or in a series, to enhance the curb appeal of any architectural style. Available in small, medium and large versions. A custom backplate is also offered. Let the elegance of our exterior lighting designs draw you in and greet your guests with warmth. Welcome home.
